Bought a firestick a month ago to try it. Unplugged the virgin cable to tv and showed the family how to use it.

Cancelled virgin on wednesday (£50 odd quid per month) and got a broadband and phone deal from plusnet for £27 pcm.

Re: Virgin Media Deals
Virgin have been laying cables around my roads for last 4 months.
I might give them a go as BT is pretty unreliable and not particularly fast. £82 quid is a bit steep but I don't need the TV and, believe it or not, I'd quite like to keep my phone number.
My son is a gamer and he'd kill for fiber to the house.

bruuu, if it's just for internet, you should be able to do it yourself, they will send you a router and a couple of micro filters and that's it, just plug it in and you're good to go

Pay £31 to Sky for Broadband and use Freeview for my TV as only watch about 3 channels anyway, kids use their cousins login for Netflix but we have britbox and disney plus. Going to unsubscribe Britbox though. Its good but i am.nit one for watching boxsets.

Re: Virgin Media Deals
Virgin are definitely installing - had a second business line installed yesterday. Admittedly all they had to do was go through the same hole they put in before, but still had to come in to install a second modem - properly social distanced etc.

Was a business line, but was installed by their residential team

That’s good to hear cough, there’s nothing already there. Does that mean I can install sky myself or does the engineer have to come round and do it?

Re: Virgin Media Deals
I had a wrestle with Virgin last year, I ended eventually getting 200Mb braodband for £27/month and bought a tvbox for £30, which is excellent, and paid £94/year for an IPTV subscription which is again excellent and rock solid. Just about everything bar the very latest Disney+ etc which is a bit extra. Wish I'd done it years ago.

Re: Virgin Media Deals
If it's Sky, you just need a landline socket, if it's Virgin, they need to run a cable to your house, unless it's already there?

Just internal stuff mate, it’s only the internet I need

Re: Virgin Media Deals
On a similar note does anyone know if they are installing anything at the moment? Or if any providers are currently?

I know I can ring them up and ask them but I can’t be fucked

LT - Yes mate, My mate in Northern Norway uses that! :)

She's fit and Norwegian, I'm happy to pay it! (No link)

Re: Virgin Media Deals
You can share your Netflix account too, 'jam.

I've had it for years but piggy back off my brother in laws account (and he's in the States, so it works internationally).

I've never paid a penny to Netflix or Sky or Virgin.
